Series: Good Question!

Book: Matthew

Mitchel explored Jesus’ question, “Why are you afraid?” as the disciples faced a terrifying storm. Through connections to other biblical stories, he showed how water represents chaos and how Jesus demonstrates His authority over it by calming the storm with His words. The disciples were faced with a choice: trust their experience and circumstances, or trust the One who was with them in the boat. Mitchel reminded us that faith does not mean our fears are irrational or unjustified; rather, it means trusting that Jesus is present with us in the midst of them. When fear comes, the important question is not only “Why are you afraid?” but also “Who is in your boat?”
