In this message, the congregation is invited to “hit pause” and reflect on the theme of giving—not just our own, but God’s abundant provision and His surprising ways of meeting our needs. Drawing from Luke 10:25-37, the parable of the Good Samaritan demonstrates an extravagant, unexpected generosity. The Samaritan goes beyond what is required, providing care for a stranger in need, mirroring the unexpected ways God meets our needs with abundance and compassion.
This sermon reminds us that, like the Samaritan, God’s provision often comes from unforeseen places, bringing us what we need just when we need it (Philippians 4:19). Whether it’s through financial help, supportive friendships, or spiritual renewal, God remains faithful. As the congregation reflects on Genesis 1:1-5, 24-27, they are reminded of God’s lavish act of creation—where He created “every kind” of plant, animal, and creature to fill the earth, a testament to His unceasing generosity.
With this assurance, we are called to respond with gratitude and generosity. This stewardship series encourages Hamblen Park to prayerfully consider their own giving, knowing that by joining God’s work, they help to reflect His love, mercy, and provision in the world (2 Corinthians 9:6-8). As they give, the congregation is challenged to trust in God’s abundant provision and step out in faith, recognizing that they, too, can be conduits of God’s love, meeting others’ needs in unexpected and transformative ways.
