In this sermon, we explored Psalm 87, which speaks about citizenship in God’s city. The psalm shows that unlike earthly citizenship, which requires complex processes, becoming a citizen of God’s city is simply a matter of God writing our names in His register. Just as the psalm mentions people from different nations being citizens of God’s city, it reminds us that we are all welcomed by God’s grace, regardless of our background. This citizenship is not something we earn, but a gift from God that surpasses any earthly identity. As a church, we are called to remember that we are one in Christ and to live out this love and unity in all that we do.
