Unshakable Trust: Finding Refuge in God Alone

July 28, 2024

Book: Psalms

In this sermon, we continued our summer series on the Psalms, focusing on Psalm 62. This Psalm, authored by King David, highlights a “foxhole prayer” – a desperate cry for help in times of crisis. David, facing intense danger and false accusations, turns to God as his only source of refuge, reminding us that true help and strength come from God alone, not from wealth or power. The Psalm emphasizes that wealth and power are fleeting and unreliable, but God’s steadfast love and justice are unshakable. In times of crisis, whether we have prayed consistently or not, we are encouraged to turn to God and place our trust in Him. Let us remember to trust God at all times, pouring out our hearts to Him, for He is our true refuge and strength.
