In this sermon, we explored how the Bible, much like a library, contains both comforting and discomforting books, and how both are essential for our faith journey. We specifically focused on Psalm 10, a Psalm of lament that confronts us with themes of despair, injustice, and doubt, pushing us out of our comfort zones. Instead of avoiding such discomforting passages, we’re invited to engage with them, as they teach us about the depth and authenticity of a faith that faces life’s hardest realities. Just as the Psalmist cries out to God in times of trouble, we are reminded that God welcomes our honest questions and struggles, holding us in love through them all. As a church, we are encouraged to bring our brokenness to God, trusting that He can bring healing, courage, and life even in the midst of our pain and uncertainty.
